Rediscovering Ancient Herbs The Judean Desert has one of the rarest climates of any place on the globe. It is situated between the rainy Judean Hills and the Dead Sea with constantly warm and dry conditions. These two climate extremes make it hard for herbs to grow in the area. Herb expert Amir Kitron says that this is actually a good thing. [Dr. Amir Kitron, Director, Herbs of Kedem]: We found that various plants cope with intense climatic stress by producing certain plant hormones, which can regulate the growth inside the plant but can also help to provide signals to the body, to change undesirable conditions such as for treating psoriasis and eczema. Dr. Kitron specializes in Judean Desert herbs. He is also the director of the company Herbs of Kedem. Herbs of Kedem develops and produces therapeutic products based on the beneficial properties of the Judean Desert herbs.
